Consistency, Scott, is a beautiful thing. When it persists and makes it from one year to the next - you know there's something real there. Well written!

Thanks Lulu. I'm like my grandfather, I love to eat. I can get into eating less for awhile, but then... well, you know. I've never been good at sustained diets. Like you, I like to celebrate the flavors in life! Looking forward to raviolis maybe? Or something else?

Well Scott about three years ago I went on a diet where I cut out bread and ate smaller portions. it seems to have worked a little I have kept 20 of the 40 off. I am working on getting back to the eliptical and just and hour a day seems to keep me at a farely good weight. I believe that weight for people is a comfort thing. Food is how i celebrate life. It is what makes me the most happy. I love entertaining with amazing food. I'm trying to learn the balance of that.
This was great. I was just thinking about blogging about "It's really not my hair, thats just my distraction."
Sometimes I think we have the same muse. Can't wait to meet Shandell.
     Always Lulu

I am really enjoying reading your thoughts and views on your blog. You have always had a great gift of communication.
I agree with your writings on regrets. I think we need to face our regrets, learn from them, rectify them if possible and then move on. Without processing your mistakes you end up regretting the same type of behaviours over and over.

Have you come across the blog http://www.secretregrets.com/ ?
It is dedicated to posting regrets submitted anonymously by all types of people who express the kind feelings you mention in your post.

Another great blog is http://postsecret.blogspot.com/ . It is, "an ongoing community art project where people
mail in their secrets anonymously on one side of a postcard."

Both of these sites are fascinating and can easily eat away hours of productive time ;)

I can empathize with your back pain. I too was foolish with my back for about 10 years. Then, in 2001, I went in for surgery to repair the discs in my lower back. I woke up in the recovery room surrounded by neurologists and family members because I had my 1st ever gran mal seizure. The seizures continued regularly for months until we finally found the right medication. Medication that I have to take everyday for the rest of my life.

Thank you for that post Scott. How moving and honest. Hindsight is always 20/20 and our shit makes us who we are today. Again, thanks so much. Your post moved me to tears, and made me think.

This makes me think of the cats I follow on twitter. LOL! Why do I follow them? I'm not sure. I think maybe because they run, and talk about shadows.
